CITI  Course in The Protection of Human Research Subjects

 

 Welcome to the MCW Human Research Protections Certification Program. The program consists of CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative), a web-based course and an annual human subjects education component.

The BASIC CITI course can be completed in four and six hours.  It  must be completed by all MCW faculty, staff and students involved in the conduct of human research and non-MCW personnel involved in human research conducted by MCW Faculty, staff, or students.  The CITI Refresher course is required every two years thereafter.

An additional three hours of human subjects protection education is required each year for investigators and coordinators and an additional one hour of human subjects protection education is required for all other research staff.  

NOTE:  Investigators, coordinators and study team members with active VA studies, should complete the annual VA training in human subject protection that serves as a substitute for the MCW program.   

1. Register at www.citiprogram.org (Internet Explorer - recommended)

Instructions for CITI sign-on, registration, basic and refresher course        

2. Complete CITI Basic Course or CITI Refresher Course – from any computer, in as many settings as convenient
      -    Print Completion Report for your records

3. Complete MCW evaluation and email to coordinator or fax 456-6565.
